Newsletter May 2017
June 01, 2017 - by @jan
Stop wondering if we are going to release a newsletter. We’ve always got something to tell 😀
This newsletter is short. I like short newsletters. Just the facts, I am not writing a novel.
- Codebase upgrade
- Wallet rewrite
- Good and bad news
- New website
We’ve upgraded our codebase to match version 0.8.2 of the Lisk codebase.
Read more about the upgrade here: https://github.com/ShiftNrg/shift/releases/tag/v6.4.1
Please update your nodes as soon as possible.
We are rewriting the web wallet which will include client sided signing for obvious security reasons.
Shift comes to e-commerce, even up to 28% of all online stores, with a 1-click setup!
Paying with Shift is as easy as it gets if our gateway makes it’s way to the plugin folder at WordPress.org.
Together with our finest dedicated members, we’re working out a marketing plan to bring even more awareness and talents to our project.
Good and bad news
Last but not least: we’ve got some good news and some bad news to share.
The bad news is we’re struggling with a side chain synchronisation bug. Icarus and Phantom’s rewarding functionality will be delayed.
The goods news is that we’ve found a way to have your IPFS website hosted at the Shift network anyway using the very first Shift dApp! Keep an eye on our Github repo’s. You might have to fuel up your nodes sooner than expected.
We need more members to run a node on our testnet.
This is important because we need a situation that’s as close to mainnet as possible to perform live tests with Phantom.
There’s an understanding within the community that members who also run a testnode on the side to help out, receive more votes than other users as it’s clear that they contribute.
Please help us with the final stage of testing Phantom!
As we did not receive a lot of response on our previous message regarding the new website, here’s it again:
Our website needs a make over. New graphics, more information about Phantom and a lot more.
If you want to collaborate, feel free to contact @jan. We need all the help we can get. Collaboration is the key!
The Telegram group is a big success! Already 140 members.
It’s an +offtopic channel though. Please ask technical questions at Ryver in channel +technical.
